especially for those businesses and organizations that may be responding to our recent
marketing literature, or would simply appreciate a quick rundown of how we can help.
This page contains a brief description of our philosophy and the services we provide
to help your organization better manage technology.
While we encourage you to navigate through our site, we feel that this one page will
provide you with a synopsis of how we at NexGen Systems can help with your technology
issues.
Philosophy
Our guiding principle is to build and maintain long-term, mutually-beneficial relationships.
How do we do that? By:
- being open, honest and fair;
- treating our customers with respect, regardless of their size, stature or effect on the bottom line;
- recommending and implementing well thought-out solutions that are free from bias, special interest, commission or anything else contrary to our customers' interest;
- providing excellent quality and value;
- maintaining a sense of humor.
We in turn expect to be treated with the same sense of fairness and respect we show our clients.
Technology
NexGen Systems is focused on supporting small to medium sized businesses. Typically this means organizations as small as
a couple of workstations to those with up to 50 workstations and multiple servers. Currently, our smallest client is
a local golf course with 4 PCs. Our largest client is a large financial institution with over 250 PCs and over 80 servers,
spread across 4 locations in three states. We are very adaptable to our client's needs.
The following chart highlights the major technologies we design, plan, build and support. As this is
not an exhaustive list, do not be put off if a technology you need assistance with is not listed

Pricing Structure
NexGen Systems provides excellent service with fair pricing. Our pricing comes in three
flavors: Flat Hourly Rate, Projects, and Pre-paid Block-of-Hours.
Flat Hourly Rate:
Technical Support & Engineering: $135
Technical Support covers those services typically performed at the desktop PC, such as end-user
support for applications, desktop hardware installations and configurations, desktop software
installation, desktop troubleshooting, and also basic network administration such as adding/removing
users.
Engineering Services are services that are typically performed at the network level or above.
These services would include but not be limited to server and network troubleshooting,
advanced network administration tasks, router installations, firewall issues,
telecommunications, project consulting, security and other specialized services such as
virus cleaning and repair.
Projects:
Some general projects have established rates that we use, such as installing, updating and securing a new Windows 2000/2003 server (currently $1195), implementing a small-office Cisco PIX / ASA firewall (currently $450) or installing an Untangle web filtering server (currently $650). Other projects are more flexible in nature depending on the design and the environment, such as an office move or a server migration. These are negotiated on a case-by-case basis and determined mainly by the complexity of the project, not necessarily by the time involved.
Pre-paid Block-of-Hours:
Pre-paying in blocks of hours offer substantial savings on all of NexGen Systems' services. By pre-paying
in blocks of 10 hours, clients are presented with a savings of $25 off the flat hourly rate. With blocks of hours at $1100 for 10 hours, a savings of $250 is realized!
Monthly Preventitive Maintenance:
For a flat monthly fee of $260 we will conduct an onsite visit of up to 3 hours to ensure your network server is patched and running optimally, your data backups are operating properly, review firewall and network devices for changes, and keep your workstations patched. Not just Microsoft patches, but all applications, which is a critical miss for many organizations. Additional monthly maintenance time and effort can easily be negotiated for specific situations if desired.
