Microsoft has released their April 2015 patches. This month there are 11 patches, 4 of which are CRITICAL and should be applied in an expedited manner.

The critical patches are for Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, IIS, and a graphics component. The vulnerabilities that are identified and patched all allow remote code execution — meaning that exploiting them could potentially allow an attacker to take control of your vulnerable systems.

As usual, SANS Internet Storm Center provides an easy to read table that has the patches ranked and rated. Based on our own review of the patches and vulnerabilities addressed, NexGen agrees with the SANS rankings as a general level of risk.

NexGen strongly encourages everyone to patch their vulnerable Microsoft systems as quickly as possible, following an expedited testing process and based on their own level of risk. If you need help with applying these patches to your systems or would like to verify your security posture before or after patching, contact us and we’ll be happy to help!
